Today’s ShieldID Member Guides: Quote Planning, Preparation and Aftercare
Today’s ShieldID member-guide directory connects vehicle owners to two new educational articles for every current member shop: one focused on scope and quote planning, and one focused on vehicle preparation and aftercare. The articles use the approved ShieldID roster and current profile facts. They are designed to make a direct shop conversation more specific without inventing prices, products, schedules, warranties, or capabilities.
Why use both guides?
The planning article helps define the vehicle, desired result, exact covered areas, preparation, product or material when applicable, work environment, price, care, and responsibility. The preparation and aftercare article helps document vehicle condition, organize delivery questions, preserve service records, and ask the shop what maintenance applies after the work.
These are complementary steps. A vehicle owner may discover a shop through its listed specialty, but the profile and article cannot approve a vehicle-specific job. The independent shop must inspect or review the vehicle as needed and confirm the complete written scope directly.
Start with the correct service purpose
Paint protection film, window tint, ceramic coating, paint correction, detailing, vehicle wraps, and specialty films do not solve the same problem. Impact protection belongs in a PPF conversation. Glass-related heat, glare, privacy, or appearance belongs in a tint conversation. Surface behavior and easier maintenance may involve coating after suitable preparation. Existing paint defects may require a correction discussion. Cleaning, reconditioning, appearance change, and specialty-film goals each need their own scope.
Use the shop-by-shop article directory
Open the pair for the shop you are researching. Then use the permanent ShieldID profile linked inside each article to confirm the current listed specialties, service area, membership status, and direct contact path.

- The desired result and the exact panels, glass, surfaces, or interior areas involved.
- The preparation, correction, removal, or inspection included in the proposal.
- The product or material when that information applies.
- The work location and whether the selected service requires a controlled environment.
- The price, deposit, scheduling, and estimated timing confirmed by the shop.
- The delivery inspection, care instructions, records, and warranty-responsibility route.
Keep membership language accurate
A ShieldID Basic Member is a directory listing and has not been vetted by ShieldID. Basic status does not mean vetting is underway. A ShieldID Vetted Member completed the approved review and received human approval, but Vetted does not mean certified and is not a guarantee. Every independent shop remains responsible for its own representations, scope, products, installation, pricing, scheduling, care instructions, and warranty obligations.
Frequently asked questions
Do these articles replace a quote?
No. They help the owner prepare questions; the shop must confirm the vehicle-specific written proposal.
Should I compare only price?
No. Compare preparation, coverage, product, environment, care, responsibility, and price together.
Does every listed service happen at the customer’s location?
No. A service area or mobile listing does not make every service mobile. Confirm the correct work environment with the shop.
